Core Issue

This issue is due to Cisco bug ID CSCsg56375. The bridge syslog reports the Interface Dot11Radio0 Radio over temperature detected and the radio interface will intermittently go down spurious message.

Resolution

The problem is first found in these Cisco IOS software releases:

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(11)JA

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JA02

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JEA

It is fixed in these Cisco IOS software releases:

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(11)JA01

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JEA01

Basically, the bridge reports the %DOT11-3-RADIO_OVER_TEMPERATURE: Interface Dot11Radio0 Radio over temperature detected error message in the log. The radio interface then intermittently resets / fails. This happens because the ambient temperature is cool, somewhere between 32 degrees Fahrenheit and zero degrees Fahrenheit.

There is a fix implemented on the latest Cisco IOS software releases:

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(11)JA01

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JEA01

Upgrade to either of these Cisco IOS software releases in order to resolve the problem.
