Workgroup bridge will not associate with an access point

Core Issue

When setting up a workgroup bridge and an access point, the two will not associate.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Verify that the Wireless client device and the access point are running the latest firmware. You can get the latest firmware from Cisco Downloads.
  2. Verify that the configuration for the Service Set Identifier (SSID) on the workgroup bridge matches the access point's SSID.
  3. Temporarily disable any security features.
  4. If you are trying to associate to a bridge, verify that the bridge is in access point mode, or allows client devices to associate.
