1230 AP to Wireless Controller across WAN link

We will be installing a 4400 series WLAN controller at our central site, but have several remote sites that we would like to place lightweight access points at. From what I have been reading this can be done using REAP, but is only supported on several 1100 series lightweight AP's. Is this still the case or is there anyway I can use 1230 Lightweight AP's (that I have some extras) at the remotes and have them communicate back to my wireless controller and WCS at my host site, or should I just get new AP's for the remotes?

The key problems are :

- timeout (your wan link needs to be fast or the remote APs will timeout)

- load ont he wan link (all traffic will be sent to the controller)

REAPS (1030s) are one solution, another one is the hybrid reap, probably better in your case (and many others), they run on 1240s and 1230s. Have a look here :
