Hi i have to configure two Aps 3802i like autonomous mode. I realize that these Aps are new for me and the config is a litle  different. I have some doubts

  1.  is there an autonomous software to these Aps? or now there is only the lightweight and mobility express mode?
  2.  My Aps are looking for a controller over and over again. Which software i have to download from Cisco?

Cisco 3800 Series Mobility Express Release 8.3 Software,to be used for conversion from Lightweight Access Points only.

AIR-AP3800-K9-ME-8-3-111-0.tar

Cisco 3800 Series Mobility Express Release 8.3 Software. Access Point image bundle, to be used for software update and/or supported access points images.

AIR-AP3800-K9-ME-8-3-111-0.zip

3. finally which is the procedure tu upgrade this image in the Aps?

Hola Frank,

is there an autonomous software to these Aps? or now there is only the lightweight and mobility express mode?

No autonomous mode for 1800/2800/3800 APs. We have mobility Express instead.

My Aps are looking for a controller over and over again. Which software i have to download from Cisco?

Do you have a WLC? If so then giving the AP the WLC information should be enough for them to join.

If no WLC already in place then one AP 3800 needs to be deploy as ME so other can associate as subordinate. Not really sure what type of solution are you looking for.

AIR-AP3800-K9-ME-8-3-111-0.tar

This file is used to deploy ME on a 3800/2800 APs

AIR-AP3800-K9-ME-8-3-111-0.zip

This file contains the bundles needed for other AP models to join to the ME WLC. Since on ME WLC does not carry the images needed for the AP to associate to it. So you have to redirect subordinate AP(s) to a TFTP server to download their image through ME.

3. finally which is the procedure tu upgrade this image in the Aps?

This will changes depending if using ME or WLC. Please specify.

Can we change to spanish? this is the spanish community.

Thanks,

archive download-sw /reload tftp://<tftp server ip-address>/<TAR filename>
