ASR 9000 line cards

Hi experts.

My question is the technical background of the following line cards. The line cards' part numbers are as follows:

  • A9K-MOD80-SE
  • A9K-MOD160-SE

I have read their corresponding data sheet. However, I wasn't able to draw distinction between these line cards.

Another question is about the difference between the following line cards' technical view:

  • A9K-MOD160-TR
  • A9K-4T-L

I appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hello,

The MOD80 supports a total BW of 80Gbps and the MOD160 supports 160Gbps. The big difference, besides total BW, is that the MOD 80 has 2 total NPs (1 per bay) while the MOD160 has 4 NPs (2 per bay) which allows for the use of the 2x40 and 8x10 MPAs in the MOD160.

The 4T-L and MOD160-TR are both low queue cards, the difference is that the 4T-L has 4x10 ports for 40Gbps while the MOD160 supports 160Gbps.

If this is for a new install then please use the MOD80 or MOD160.

Let me know what other technical details you needed.

Thanks,

Sam
