ASR9000 PPPoE Disconnecting users for particular ip range

Hello All

We are performing pppoe termination in asr9k / IOSXR 4.3.1 Usually we begin with a single range per ipv4 pool and based on user

demand we insert additional pools e.g.

pool vrf default ipv4 test

address-range 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.255

address-range 192.168.2.0 192.168.2.255

In some cases we may need to take a step backwards, delete a particular range from an existing pool. We are looking for a way to logout the corresponding subscribers.

For example if we need to move the range 192.168.2.0 192.168.2.255 to another asr9k we must:

- Delete the range 192.168.2.0 192.168.2.255 from the pool test

- Stop sending advertising corresponding route

- Logout subscribers with 192.168.2.x only (we are looking for a way to implement this step)

When the range is deleted the corresponding subscriber sessions are unaffected in 4.3.1. Is there any IOS command in 4.3.1 (or tools in IOS_XR) that we may have overlooked?

(we may start looking into CoA to develop something)

hi victor, i think in this case using COA or more specifically the packet of disconnect type fnctionality to disconnect subscribers that match a certain ip address.

Here are a few examples as to how to work with that:

you can also clear subscribers by access interface for instnce, but if they have a mix of adds from different pools this is not helping that much.

So COA an disconnecting them individually is the best play.

Probably easiest to send coa disconnects for x.x.x.1 x.x.x.x.2 etc sequentially.
