Hi guys,

On the ASR 9001 do we have integrated eboc ports that are seperate to the 4 X 10GE ports?

Also, do we have to use 2 inter-rack links? I have all 4 of my 10GE ports allocated and I was aware of the 2 eobc ports but didn't know i needed the inter-rack links.

Anyone got the IRL working with 1 link???

Or is there any other interfaces I could use for this???

Thanks

Yes, you can use 1 link.  But it is recommended to have more than 1 for redundancy.

Thanks,

Bryan

Thanks a lot for your reply, do you know if you can port channel the mgmt ports + 1 X 10 GE link for IRL?

I know this wouldn't be great but it would be temporary until I could get some modules!!

There is no reason to bundle the IRL links.  Once you configure them as nv edge, they are not normal interfaces anymore.  They are part of the fabric and used to extend the fabric between the two chassis.

In addition, the mgmt ports are not like other ports on the box.  There is no HW forwarding for them and they aren't supported or recommended to be in the forwarding path.  They are merely for out of band access.

Thanks,

Bryan
