ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW

Hi All,

I have a ASR 9006 router and have double RSP module. I have problem with static routing. Static routing doesn't working today. I saw the this log.

%ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW : CEF running low on DATA_TYPE_TABLE_SET resource memory. CEF will now begin resource constrained forwarding. Only route deletes will be handled in this state, which may result in mismatch between RIB/CEF. Traffic loss on certain prefixes can be expected. CEF will automatically resume normal operation, once the resource utilization returns to normal level.

My device have double rsp active standby mode. I'm using version asr9k-ce-4.1.2 ( I have asr9k-ce-4.2.0 but inactive ) I have a full routing table seven BGP connection.

Static routing doesn't working. What can do it?

ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW

Hi Umit,

The bad news is that Cisco can not help you here, if you buy a router for Internet BGP you need to _know_ the capabilities and _monitor_ your routes, it is not and never was a secret that the default L3 FIB limit is 512k, you find that in any data sheet.

The good news is that you dont need to reload the RSP, only the line cards need to be reloaded. So assuming you have redundant uplinks on different line cards you should be fine.

Regards,

Florian

Samuel, thank you so much quick reply.

I saw this document but I have double RSP module. I don't want data loss. This document says have to reload the RSP module. This is impossible for me.

ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW

The question is unfortunately not new, but it starts appearing more and more due to the increase of the internet routing table.

Besides the already great answers provided by Sam and Florian, I wanted to point you to the following helpful (hopefully) resources:
