Various filesystem issuess in IOS-XR

Hello,

I have been recently struggling with several filesystem issues, I've tried several DSCs and have different problems on each. I'll focus on the most recent ones.

(Issue #1)

My disk1: went nuts after I aborted a stuck upgrade operation.

It doesn't show up in "show filesystem", and although format succeeds, I'm stuck in the following state:

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios#format disk1:

Format will destroy all data on "disk1:". Continue? [confirm]

Device partition disk1: is now formated and is available for use.
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios#fsck disk1:

FSCK results for partition /disk1: on node 0/RP0/CPU0.
==============================================================
Error: Unable to run FSCK because partition state is 'Failed'.

Even after reboot, it's still there. It is a remote system so I cannot physically pull the PMCIA, I'd like to have a way to restore disk1: on the console.

(Issue #2)

Since disk0: doesn't have enough space and disk1: went nuts, I'm trying harddisk:, and the following operation hangs:

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(admin)# install add tar harddisk:CRS-iosxr-px-5.2.0.tar/harddisk:/CRS-iosxr-px-5.2.0.tar' started by user 'lab' via CLI at 08:56:47
UTC Fri Aug 08 2014.
\ 1% complete: The operation can still be aborted (ctrl-c for options)

===> It hangs there forever (hours)

In another session:

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios#show install request
Install operation 171 '(admin) install add tar
/harddisk:/CRS-iosxr-px-5.2.0.tar' started by user 'lab' via CLI at 13:58:03
UTC Fri Aug 08 2014.
The operation is 1% complete
0KB downloaded: Download in progress
The operation has been aborted.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

As Nic mentioned only the PRP is supported after 4.3.x.

Thanks,

Hi,could you please tell us

Hi,

could you please tell us which hardware is involved here and what was the version before upgrade attempt ?

You mention RP/0/RP0/CPU0 so I suppose it's a CRS or a ASR99xx ?

Then you mention PCMCIA, so I guess it's CRS with RP-B?

If confirmed, we do not support IOS XR 5.2.0 on RP but only on PRP.

Thanks,

Nicolas.
