Hello Nithin,  There are several ways of monitoring CallManager / Communications Manager. Are you referring to the enterprise or express product? The express product is based on Cisco IOS. The Enterprise product deploys on a server as an appliance.  Communications Manager can be monitored by several tools including: * Real Time Monitoring Tool - bundled with CUCM * CUOM - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6535/index.html * a variety of Cisco partner products including Prognosis and NetIQ. There are several Cisco Partners who provide similar suites.  Regarding OID, I know OID as a specific branch or location within a MIB. The CCM MIB is available for download here: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseMIB.do?local=en&step=2&mibName=CISCO-CCM-MIB  Regards, Wes

Hello Wesley,

Thanks for your Reply,

Yes we have deployed a Enterprise Appliance (some MCS Server).

ok so what does that MIB will actually do. Say i have a tool called Nagios (Opensource Monitoring tool) so with this is that possible to get the exact call logs, summary details as we get the same when we use our RTMT.

Does it make any biger difference.

Thanks,

Nithin

Hi Nithin,  General monitoring tools will not provide call log type information. You need "Call Detail Record" or CDR information for that. CUCM has a built in feature called "CDR Analysis and Reporting" for that:http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/service/8_5_1/car/CAR.html  Alternatively, several partners such as ISI-Infotel provide "billing servers" which do archiving, trending, and reporting for call activity.

Hi Wesley,,

Need Help !

As per the links that you have given i downloaded the OID's but I am not able to reach the same.

I think since i am using CUCM 8.5 the listed OID's in that link were not supporting in this version when i checked from my Nagios monitoring tool.

Please could you tell me how to i get the OID for cisco 8.5.

Or is tat not possible at all ??

Nithin

Hello Nithin,  The OIDs are generally the same across CUCM versions. There are several reasons that polling OIDs might fail including connectivity, SNMP service deactivated or stopped, and SNMP community name issues. You might start here:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/service/8_5_1/admin/sasnmdes.html  Regards, Wes
