Core Issue
Licenses are already issued and working on one Cisco Unity server. The user needs to divide the existing number of licences between two servers instead of one. This is known as license pooling.
Resolution
It is possible to set up another Cisco Unity server to share user licenses from the existing Cisco Unity box.
License pooling, which is available in Cisco Unity beginning with version 4.0, allows Cisco Unity servers to pool (or share) subscriber licenses for voice messaging, unified messaging, and the Cisco Unity inbox.
For all licensed features other than subscriber licenses, licenses cannot be pooled and are set separately for each Cisco Unity server.
All servers that share licensed users need to have license pooling enabled, which is a free upgrade to an existing license.
