Hi..

I have a PIX with 5 Intefaces at present. There is an Inside zone with security level 100 and another zone 'A' with security level 99.The next zone comes with security level 80 only.

I would like to add a new 6th Interface with a security level in between Inside and level 'A'. The PIX is operational . Can I reduce the secutiry level of 'A' to say 95 and give the new interface a security level of 98. will the PIX take in the command, and if does will it cause any issues.

Rajesh,

In short the answer is yes! The security-level command with take effect on each new packet put into the state table. However a quick reboot is always best if possible
