Hi,
I'm constructing a VoIP system using AS5800 with 600 channel capacity and SS7 signalling. The point is, the SS7 signalling information are in E1 lines (signalling channels).
The system should support something about 60 E1 lines, so it seems that I have to use 60 2600 routers with drop and insert E1 cards to get the signalling information and pass the rest to AS5800.
I was wondering if it is possible to connect all these E1 lines to AS5800, extract the signalling information out of them and inserting them into an E1 line and hence reducing the routers one for every 30 E1.
Any helps?

Actually, in the configuration that you are running you will only need 1 2600. Each 2600 can support 2 SS7 signaling channels. In a typical configuration you will use two 2600 with 4 ss7 signaling channels. The reason for the multiple SS7 signaling channels is for ip redundancy and ss7 redundancy. The E1 that you place in the AS5800 will not require d-channels, because the AS5800 gets the control traffic from the sc2200. You are limited in how many channels you can have on one ss7 signaling channel, but it is dependent on the protocol you are using. If it is ITU than its around 4000 channels per SS7 signaling channel.

The point is there's no SS7 network. The SS7 signalling information is carried in E1 D-Channels and we should extract them from it. Can I still use one router for 60 E1 lines?

Yes, you extract the d-channel from the E1. And you only need one d-channel, but you should have multiple backups. You don't need every E1 with a d-channel. Thats the benefit of the sc2200. If you have 60 E1 lines that all have d-channels, then you don't need an sc2200, because the AS5800 get its d-channel from the PSTN, instead of the sc2200. The reason for the sc2200 is to lower costs, by reducing the number of d-channels.

Thanks for your helps, but, only to make sure, Please note that in each E1 d-channels we have SS7 signalling. Is it possible for AS5800 to work with this SS7 info without SC2200? So I don't need SLT and etc too?

So anybody knows if it's possible to use only one 2600 for 20 E1 lines who carry SS7 signalling in d-channels and AS5800?

You don't need a 2600 if your not going to use the sc2200. The reason for having a 2600 is to connect the SS7 network to a sc2200 platform. The AS5800 doesn't know the 2600 exists, because the only purpose for the 2600 is to connect the ss7 network to the sc2200 through IP. The sc2200 is a class 4 solution not a class 5. If you are going to use a class 5 solution you only need the AS5800.

I got more confused reading your response. What I want to know is if it is possible to connect E1 lines whom carry SS7 signalling inside them to a AS5800 and use this for VoIP or not? If i connect, would the AS5800 recognize the SS7 signalling by itself or not?
