Frame-Relay from a 7206 to a MartisDXX

lwahlers

Level 1

I am attempting to connect a single E1 channel to a Martis DXX using frame-relay.

Till now, no success.

I have setup a subinterface which has the state of "interface up, line protocol up".

The subinterface has an address.

The cisco is sending LMI requests, but receiving no answer.

I can ping the subinterface from outside the router (my pc) but cannot ping it from the router itself.

I have gone through documents, but so far I am at a loss.

Lutz.

Hello,

can you post your configuration ? As far as I remember, in order to ping the interface from your router, you need to map a local DLCI to the IP address of that router.

Regards,

GP

interface Serial3/6:0

description Frame-Relay Test

bandwidth 64

no ip address

no ip directed-broadcast

no ip proxy-arp

encapsulation frame-relay IETF

no fair-queue

no frame-relay broadcast-queue

bandwidth 64

ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 255.255.255.252

no ip directed-broadcast

no cdp enable

And here some "Show" commands:

show frame-relay pvc

The funny thing is that I seem to be getting LMI status reports accross, but no data.

I have tried a number of configs, but none seem to get the data going.

show int ser 3/6:0.1

Serial3/6:0.1 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is Multichannel E1

Internet address is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/30

Encapsulation FRAME-RELAY IETF

Oh, and in case there is any misunderstanding - the pc I use to ping the interface on the router is on some other ethernet interface of that router, there is NO traffic going across the FR link.

On the FR 'link' I have the 7206 router on one side and a Tellabs 8110 bridge on the other.
