I need to classify ingress traffic based on a protocol id on every interface of a Cat4507R. Below is a frame capture and the part I want to match is the Type: Unknown (0x8819).
Frame 1 (64 bytes on wire, 64 bytes captured)
Arrival Time: Sep 12, 2005 14:09:04.933618000
Time delta from previous packet: 0.000000000 seconds
Time since reference or first frame: 0.000000000 seconds
Frame Number: 1
Packet Length: 64 bytes
Capture Length: 64 bytes
Protocols in frame: eth:data
Ethernet II, Src: DigitekM_30:10:18 (00:50:5e:30:10:18), Dst: 01:60:2b:ff:ff:00 (01:60:2b:ff:ff:00)
Destination: 01:60:2b:ff:ff:00 (01:60:2b:ff:ff:00)
Source: DigitekM_30:10:18 (00:50:5e:30:10:18)
Type: Unknown (0x8819)
Data (50 bytes)
Is this possible being a layer 2 frame and any thoughts how to do it?

Yes, you should be able to classify the traffic based on the Protocol ID, check the following link for more information on configuration :

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, the type field is in the Ethernet frame header not the IP packet header. I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to do this with IOS
