Hi,
I've got a c1751-V router with 2 VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 card.
I want to connect to an old 3Com NBROII router with Telindus Crocus Nx64 Cnv TT X.21/G.703 converter.
Now the test network consists of a 75/120ohm Balun transformator and 2 75ohm koaxial wires.
The configuration is on the Nx64:
- linecoding: HDB3
- coding: CRC4 is enabled
- the time slots which are enabled for 1Mbps (16x64kbps).
I would like a very short example configuring controller E1 0/0 for this 1Mbps G.704 situation.
Now the CD LED is green, AL LED is yellow.
On the Nx64 there isn't AIS or any other alarm.
TIA,
Ruzsi

Both of them.
In unstructured G.703 mode do I have to explicite define channes-group 0 timeslots 1-31? Is that the problem?
On Telindus I can change the G.703/704 mode only 1 click on ts0 timeslot.

Unstructured (or unframed) has no concept of timeslot, it runs fixed at 2,048 Kbps and is so called for that reason.
controller E1 x/y
channel-group 0 unframed

Router(config-controller)#channel-group 0 ?

Router(config-controller)#channel-group 0 unframed

Router(config-controller)#channel-group 0 timeslots ?
<1-31> List of timeslots which comprise the channel
What is the problem?
Do I have to rate one answer by one or it is enough rate the whole post?

I should have noticed this before. Unframed requires VWIC-xMFT-G703, VWIC2-xMFT-G703, or HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI.
The card that you have does not support unframed mode.

Is that any reason why not support both G.703 and G.704 mode this card like Telindus does except marketing?
-G703 card is more expensive?

Cisco decides what to support and what not, you should ask them.
And yes, the unframed card is more expensive. Most people doesn't bother buying it because between 1,984 and 2,048 Kbps there is little difference.

Yes, if my device doesn't support G.704 there is a problem! Our network is very heterogenous. X.21, V.35, direct G.703 all of them over SDH (75 ohm unbalanced).

Note that framed/Nx64 endpoints, like a router or interface converter, work normally over unframed circuits. You just loose the bandwidth of TS0.

Yes, you're right but we've got many X.21/V.35/G.703 converters which accept only unframed E1.
