Core issue

The error occurs due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCsb25098.

Resolution

The error is cosmetic and is related to the fact that Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) support is not available in a Cisco Secure ACS appliance that is upgraded to 3.3.3. SNMP support is added only when the appliance is re-imaged with the 3.3.3 recovery CD.

The error can be disregarded. A .dmp file is correctly produced by the backup operation and restores all the data correctly. The restore produces a similar failure in the backup and restore log for the same reason.

For a workaround, after you upgrade the ACS appliance to version 3.3.3.11, take a backup to create a .dmp file and disregard the backup failure errors. Re-image the appliance with the ACS appliance version 3.3.3.11 recovery CD, and restore the .dmp file.

Note: Even after you re-image to 3.3.3, the restore produces the same failure message as soon as SNMP support is enabled.
