The two 10/100/1000 ports on the switch are identified as Base-T copper uplink ports. We have a small office with a single server and 15 work stations. Can I use one of the "uplink" ports with the server or are they restricted to connecting to another switch.

Yes, you can use the 10/100/1000 ports to connect to your server. These ports have no restrictions.
