VPN -Problems with windows Network Neighborhood using client 3.5

Hi,

I am using clients win 98 and win 2000 with VPN client 3.5.1(B) and a VPN3005 concentrator. I can establish the VPN and authenticate the user to the Windows 2000 server (who is the DNS and WINS server), map drives and so on, but i can not browse the net. The only way i have to see the machines in my local LAN is doing a search, but not all of them can be seen.

Has anyone experience with this?

Besides I want to map a drive of my remote pc from a pc in the LAN but this is impossible, i can only do a ping.

You’ll need to use WINS or LMHOSTS files for NetBIOS name resolution to work reliably over the VPN.

I am using WINS over Win2K in my central site but my Win2K clients of the VPN are not able to register on this WINS database, but the Win98 can do it. I am not an experienced user of WIN2K and maybe I am forgetting some services.
