Hi,

Could someone explain me how correlates severity level in WSUS requirement configuration on CAM (Critical, Medium, All) and MS Update levels for Windows 7 (Important, Recommended, Optional)?

Thanks

Dmitry

Maybe not asking this in the wireless area would be a good idea.

My best reply though :

Customā€”Use this setting and the associated dropdown menu to install updates based on their severity by choosing Critical, Medium, or All from the associated dropdown menu.

ā€“Criticalā€”Installs only "Critical" Microsoft Windows updates.

ā€“Mediumā€”Installs all "Critical, Important, and Moderate" Windows updates.

ā€“Allā€”Installs all "Critical, Important, Moderate, and Low" Windows updates.

Nicolas,

thanks for your help. I have seen this document.

Problem is that MS Windows 7 have not Critical update level. It has Important, Recommended and Optional.

If I set Critical on CAS what should install WSUS agent on the client?

Ok, I understand now.

Maybe a dumb question from my side : those levels ... you say they are on the win7 client, but the WSUS is still the same regardless of the client right ? So what are the severity level on your WSUS ? Is it win2003 or win2008 ?

Nicolas

OK. I found it now.

It is severity rating  in Microsoft. It could be Critical, Important, Optional.

Thanks.
