Can SNASw handle PU.T5 connections?

We plan to replace IBM3745, which serve the SNI connect between zOS MVS and VM/VSE Maiframe.

Is there any solution for SNASw known which could connect by Enterprise Extender to the MVS side and APPN (PU.T5) to the VM/VSE side?

Hi Frank,

The answer to the question in your title is no. But then the question changes to include APPN on the VSE system. With APPN this could work if the VSE system is defined as an End Node (NODETYPE=EN). There is also a small corner case possibility where the VSE system could use PU Type 2.1 (LEN - Casual Connect) for LU Type 6.2 sessions to the z/OS system.

Rgds, Dan

In order to use snaswitch, not only must the VSE system be configured as an End Node, it must also be configured to accept a non-"session services extension capable" network node server. This is done by specifying a network node server list with SLUINIT=OPT. In other words, both the snaswitch and the casual connect solutions require that the only types of sessions required by the VSE system be LU 6.2.
