have a customer that has a new WS-C2960CX-8PC-L switch and is having issues assigning IP addresses to interfaces.
The documentation indicates that we should be able to do the following:
conf t
interf gi 0/1
no switchport
ip address 10.10.10.10 255.255.255.0
But running 15.2(3)E1 this command is not available. It looks like the only way around this is to define VLAN interfaces and assign the IP address to the VLAN and then device the phgysical interface to an access vlan.
Is this a known bug or is this a documentation bug or both.
Thanks

Hello
I have never used these switches but have you tried :
interf gi 0/1
no switchport
ip address 10.10.10.10 255.255.255.0

Paul,
That was part of the configuration. If you do an "ip ?" under Interface.. address is not an option.

That is just layer-2 switch with LAN Base license. You can assign an IP to SVI only.
